About This Site

Why This Resource Exists

Tennessee makes many arrest, booking, and court records available through public offices, but the sources answer different questions. The Carter County Sheriff creates county jail records and operates the current roster. The Tennessee Department of Correction maintains state offender information. Court clerks document what happens after booking, while public-records requests reach files no longer shown online. This private resource organizes those official routes and explains their limits. It does not host a mugshot gallery or copy government records into its own database.

Information Organized Here

The material is designed to help visitors distinguish current custody from an arrest event and a later court result.

  • The county home page explains recent arrests, roster searches, warrants, booking photos, record requests, and Tennessee law.
  • Short-window and multi-day pages explain Carter County’s date-filtered report portal.
  • The VINE page covers named-person custody checks and notification registration.
  • City pages separate Elizabethton, Johnson City, and Watauga police records from county jail records.
  • Official state and federal locators are identified for custody that moves beyond Carter County.

Limits of This Service

Carter County Recent Arrests is privately operated. It has no affiliation with Carter County, the Sheriff’s Office, the Detention Center, any police department, TDOC, a court, or another government agency.

  • It cannot release, transfer, or confirm a person in custody.
  • It cannot post bond, arrange visits, or send funds.
  • It cannot obtain an official report on a visitor’s behalf.
  • It cannot give legal advice.
  • It cannot guarantee that a changing fee, phone number, address, or online entry remains current.

Only the responsible sheriff, jail, corrections agency, court, or records custodian can confirm an official status or release a record.

Search Partner Disclosure

Some pages contain search boxes supplied by third-party providers. Those providers control their own results, data practices, and prices. If a visitor follows a tool to a paid signup, this site may receive a referral fee that helps support free access to the editorial material. The referral relationship does not make the partner an official Carter County source, and this site does not control the partner’s coverage or billing.
